The analysis of the urban environment, the importance of the pedestrian access from the station, the pedestrian and visual relationships with the Parliament and the Music Centre and the tunnel projected, allow us to place the main entrance on the south side, opposite to the new square, protected by a large porch formed by the highest volume of the building.

The main hall opens to the park and the main entrance of the square on the south façade of the building, it is a big and complex open space that, in conjunction with the connected space of the basement, contains all the most open and public spaces of the Library (main hall and central public service spaces, events spaces etc.), summer activities of which can take place in the outdoor public spaces in front of the building.

The fluid and open space of the atrium expands upward through two large and transparent patios. This with its total height and covered with glass, creates a light well, which allows to have natural light and views over the city.
