For many years, 'Estel Building', built by Francesc Mitjans in the years 73-75, has been the headquarters of Telefónica in Barcelona. The use that has been given to the building during this time has given much of its present state.

Carlyle, current owner of the building decides to change its use and we commissioned a study of technical and economic feasibility.

In order to ensure economic viability of the project, ruling out the option of dedicating the entire building to the same use and we offer a varied program uses to provide feedback on all activities and functions as a quasi-autonomous building.

We propose a great central recess which serves as a square in height and as a connector axis of the entire program a part from ensuring the lighting and ventilation of all spaces. Then reduces the depth of the edificatory mass so that all uses run well iluminated and ventilated.

This connector space becomes a public square when it reaches ground floor. Square that addresses both access to all parts of the building and the relationship with their immediate surroundings. It aims to enhance the activity of this hosting space there all commercial use of the building.
