PRINCESA 19
This is an intervention to rehabilitate a building in the Born district of Barcelona. Built in 1790, it was extended and acquired its main façade on Carrer Princesa when it was opened in 1850.
The project proposes the transformation of a building with 8 apartments, 2 per floor plus the main floor and attic, into a building with 13 apartments. With the aim of improving accessibility, a new lift is incorporated in the stairwell, with a permeable enclosure that maintains the sensation of open space.
One of the aims of the project is to unify the building after the multiple interventions it has undergone throughout its history. All the heritage aspects of the original building have been recovered. Work is being carried out on the restoration of the exterior carriage entrance that is connected to the main courtyard, along with the ground floor of the building, which improves the lighting and ventilation of the apartments.
